Tithe Nativity of the Most Holy Mother of God Monastery

The Tithe Nativity of the Most Holy Mother of God Monastery of Kyiv Diocese arose in Kyiv in the early 2000s: in 2006 a temporary tent-church was set up there, and the following year a wooden church replaced it².

On 14 April 2009 the Holy Synod of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, by journal No. 20, blessed the opening of this monastery in the city of Kyiv¹; according to the monastery's own site, however, the monastery was established at the church in 2010².

In December 2012 unknown persons set fire to the interior of the church, though the altar table, iconostasis and sacred items were left almost undamaged, and by the end of spring 2013 the church had been restored².

On 28 April 2021 a resident of the monastery, the novice Pavlo (Synhaivskyi), was tonsured and given the name Paisiy, in honour of Saint Paisiy of Kyiv, Fool for Christ⁴.

In January 2026, with the blessing of His Beatitude Metropolitan Onufriy of Kyiv and All Ukraine, the monastery published a collection of the spiritual works of the church composer Mykhailo Oleksandrovych Nadezhdinsky (1875-1935), a representative of the Kyiv musical tradition of the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries who had at one time been choirmaster of the Volodymyrskyi Cathedral in Kyiv; the collection was prepared from archival materials and includes restored and edited choral works that had not previously been published³.
