St. Nicholas's Monastery

St. Nicholas's Monastery, a men's monastery, arose in the village of Kholmivka, Bakhchysaray district, in Crimea. On 23 December 2010 the Holy Synod of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, having considered the report of Metropolitan Lazar of Simferopol and Crimea, blessed the opening of the Holy St. Nicholas men's monastery by Journal No. 62 of its session1.
The monastery was established on the basis of the village's existing parish Church of Christ the Saviour2, 3.
In 2013 the community was carrying out major construction of a new St. Nicholas church, together with brothers' and pilgrims' cells2, 4.
On 9 August 2013 a fire caused significant damage to the monastery's newly built structures, which were still under construction at the time2.
